My week in media
Published:
Inspired by Thomas Rigby, here’s what I’ve been watching/reading/listening to for the last week:
Watching
- Society of the Snow - Harrowing, but an incredible watch
- Bob’s Burgers - Always nice to return to a comfort show
Reading
- Sea of Rust, C. Robert Cargill - Really enjoyed this post-apocalyptic novel about sentient robots
- Day Zero, C. Robert Cargill - Still reading this prequel to Sea of Rust, but again really enjoying it
Playing
- Pokémon Emerald - fancied a hit of nostalgia, so I powered up my emulator and played this for a while
- Tomb Raider (2013) - the Xbox One version has some bugs, but it’s still great fun to play, despite Lara Croft clearly being a member of the undead
Listening
- Matthew McConaughey, Self Deception - A fun song that’s actually really good
- Hamms In A Glass, Winona Fighter - Apple Music’s recommendation algorithm came good on this one
- Silent Screams, Millie Manders and the Shutup - I saw them open at Slam Dunk festival and they were brilliant
- The Best In Town, The Blackout - I’m pumped to get to see The Blackout again next month, for the first time in 12 years. The entire Best In Town album is brilliant and amazingly nostalgic
